A retired American Airlines pilot and former Royal Canadian Air Force Avro CF-100 Canuck and McDonnell CF-101 Voodoo fighter pilot, Reginald 'Reg' Finch obtained his 1967-built MiG-21US Mongol-B two-seater in the late 1990s and then spent three years getting it back into flying condition. The Soviet fighter becoming more familiar in the air over the seaside community. The MiG-21US was imported into the US from Hungary in the mid-1980s by Dean Martin of Burlington, Vermont. Before it was obtained by Reg, the jet did a lot of flying with the US Navy Test Pilot School at Patuxent River, Maryland, in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
