F-86E(M) Canadair CL-13 Sabre Mk.2

This particular camouflage was never adopted as the standard type of camo during the active life of F-86 Sabres in the Turkish air force. The roundel that came into use replacing the square national insignia was introduced in 1973 by which time the Sabres had been withdrawn from service having been replaced by the still elderly F-84 and F-100's. At best the illustrated example could be showing a static display painted in contemporary colours and sporting the later roundels in one of the various airforce museums or a gate guard to one of the airforce bases.
