Fabrica di Roma, March, 1944. For nighttime operations, the Germans oversprayed the basic Italian olive green upper surfaces with patches of Brown and Grey or pale blue. The undersurfaces received patches of Dark Grey (or Green) over the Italian Light Grey. 1./NSG9 machines had white spinners. Note yellow tips on propeller blades which was an Italian practice. Modifications to the Cr 42 include: wheel fairings removed, enlarged air filter and exhaust flame suppressors.
