Hungary, 1942-1943. All in all, the MKHL placed orders for 70 CR.42s. Later on, the Hungarians and the Italians bartered a captured ex-Yugoslavian SM.79 against two more CR.42s in 1941, thus bringing the number of Fiat fighters operated by the Hungarian air force to a total of 72. This aircraft has received a late-war camo scheme of dark green with light Grey-Blue undersides, similar to the one applied to some licence-built Re.2000 Heja-M, and reminiscent of the ubiquitous Schema Continentale of the Regia Aeronautica.
