This aircraft served at Gilze-Rijen in the Netherlands in Summer 1944 in the hazardous task of air-launching the Fi.103 (V-1) flying bombs against British towns. The bomb could be carried on either side of the centreline and seriously reduced flight performance. H-22 was last of the bomber sub-types to be built, apart from the CASA 2111 constructed in Spain (the final German batch, designated H-23, were saboteur transports).
