Pilot - Capt. Richard D McMinn, Salt Lake City. 4th FG P-47s originally carried the 'last two' of the serial number for identification. '04' was later to become QP-M. At some stage, the rear fuselage was repainted and was lost with Capt. McMinn on 15 April 1943. McMinn was hit by a FW.190 and crashed into the North Sea 20 miles East of Felixtowe. Pilot was killed in action.
