As tested at Harper Dry Lake on June 1943. It equipped with two 2500-hp (according other source 2000-hp) Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp air-cooled radials engines (turbosuperchargers not yet fitted). Howard Hughes flew it himself.
